Stand Aid Sling Line Drawing

This sling is part of a lift system, which has been designed to be operated by an attendant. The safety of both the attendant and the individual depends upon strict adherence to the following guidelines.

All instructions pertaining to the use and operation of the lift system should be read prior to the system being put into use.

Do not, under any circumstances, exceed the system's standard for safe working load.

Prior to using the slide and lift system, make a visual inspection for signs of wear, looking for fraying, cuts, tears in the material of both the sling's body and straps. The stitching of the sling should also be inspected for loose, frayed or broken stitches.

The lift system must be positioned properly under and around the individual to ensure a balanced and safe lift.  The lift system is not a toy, do not use for unsafe practices.

In facilities when more than one staff member is responsible for operating the lift system it is imperative that all such members be trained in its proper use. A training and orientation program should be established by the facility to acquaint new caregivers with the system.

Prior to using this sling it is imperative that the client is assessed by a qualified/trained individual. All efforts should be made to ensure that their appropriateness for the lift/transfer and the stand aid sling system has been determined.
